Well, I recently purchased a Sony HDR-XR500V HandyCam.  This little unit is tricked out with a hard drive for recording full 1080i (at 30 frames / 60 fields per second).  It also is able to capture 12.0 megapixel stills (very nice for some of the other projects that I’ve got going on).
